The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and research in agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, water and land management, biological & physical sciences.
The College seeks to develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.
The University College now wishes to fill the following positions with qualified and experienced staff ready to spearhead the new College towards the attainment of the above objectives.
Senior Procurement Officer
Those with further qualifications from the Charted Institute of Purchasing Supplies (CIPS) will have added advantage. Applicants must have at least three (3) years experience as procurement officers (or equivalent position) in an academic institution, research body or a public corporation of comparable nature.
They must be members of a professional procurement body.
They must also possess outstanding management and administrative skills in procurement and supplies management and must also be wellversed in laws and regulations governing procurement in public organizations and must have proven integrity record.
Knowledge in IT and use of computers is a must.
Those with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration/Management, or Accounting and a Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management or its equivalent plus at least three (3) years experience in supply chain management will also be considered.
Possession of qualifications from the Charted Institute of Purchasing Supplies (CIPS) will have added advantage. Applicants must be members of a professional procurement body.
They must be well-versed in laws and regulations governing procurement in public organizations and must have a proven integrity record. Knowledge in IT and use of computers is a must.
She/he must have served in a Senior Position and be a member of a professional accountancy body in Kenya.
Applicant must have at least eight (8) years accounting experience in a busy institution of higher learning, public or Private sector.
He/she must be self-driven and must be computer literate, with extensive experience with accounting and database Software. Performance, achievements and discipline in previous work stations will also be considered.
He/she must have served as an Accountant in an institution of higher learning, public or private sector for a minimum period of six (6) years with demonstrable experience in, preparation of annual and forecast budgets; preparation of accurate and timely weekly/monthly and quarterly financial reports, preparation of final accounts in line with IFRS and handling of audit queries.
He/she must demonstrate professional competence and high integrity, leadership qualities and be a team player.
He/she must also have proficiency in accounting software and must be a member of a professional accountancy body.
