Shell Oil Company is looking for multi talented individuals to fillI the following exciting roles:

Legal Counsel

Reporting to the East Africa Cluster Head of Legal, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing Legal support to the Shell Companies in Kenya, Tanzania and any other countries as assigned by the Head of Legal.

Key Performance areas for the role:

  • Provide or procure legal advice in a pro-active, timely, cost—effective and professional manner with a view to furthering businessobjectives and protecting shareholder interests.
  • Provide legal support to the various classes of business in the review of contracts, tender documents etc.
  • Provide legal support in litigation.
  • Ensure legal compliance by the companies supported.
  • Drafting and review of legal documents and contracts.
  • Legal risk management.

Minimum requirements/competencies

  • Law Degree with professional legal qualifications and a minimum of 3 years post admission experience.
  • Experience in Oil Marketing sector will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with no supervision.
  • Ability to be a good team player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp legal issues in foreign jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage.

Retail Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the Cluster Network Manager, the Retail Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of an engineering program in the country ensuring compliance with streamlined processes.

Key Performance areas for the role:

  • Contract Management — Deliver Equipment Maintenance through associated contracts within specified parameters.
  • Implement engineering and maintenance plans as per agreed targets and standards.
  • Provide input to annual planning process for Capex, Opex and maintenance plans.
  • Conduct maintenance procurement in line with company contracting procedures.
  • Implement engineering processes/services in compliance with Health, Safety, Security and environmental standards as set by the Group and regulatory agencies.

Minimum requirements

  • Engineering or Technical degree with at least 3 – 5 years in a Retail Engineering role. Experience in Oil Marketing sector, Retail will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Retail Construction and/or Maintenance, Project Management, Procurement and Tendering processes.
  • Knowledge of HSSE standard in Retail Network Operations.
