THE FINANCE JOB POSITION
The NGO Programme Finance Manager ensures the financial framework defined by the Kenyan Head Office
and rules specific to the programme are applied, with the constant aim of defending the association’s interests and ensuring the correct utilization of resources.
The Programme Finance Manager has to be transparent in front of the Finance and Administration
Coordinator who has to know and validate the mode of his/her functioning and also to make sure a good coordination exists between the activities of his/her services in Nairobi Kenya and the other sites in the field.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for
1. Maintaining the framework for a sound Budget Management at the programme level by drawing up of the Global Budget, in accordance with the budgetary framework presented by the Finance and Administration Coordinator in accordance with the defined objectives of the Programme. ensuring that a regular reconciliation between committed expenses and the Global Budget is prepared, updating the budget in line with any evolution in the forecasted activities. supervising the preparation of project budgets as per requirements of funding bodies, while respecting the financial and management codification of the HI Global budget.
2. Overseeing the monitoring of available funding by ensuring the terms of the funding contract are respected as far as the commitment of expenditures is concerned. supervising the regular monitoring of committed expenditure by funding source is done.
4. Supervising the cash flow management
5. Supervising the Accountancy Management as per the internal and external rules and
regulations in Kenya
6. Providing supervision and mentoring to the Finance team in Kenya
7. Providing necessary advice in regards to the respect of local legislation
Qualifications and skills required for Kenyans
Essential
Education
• Degree in Finance or equivalent with CPA (Kenya) certification or equivalent
Experience
• 5 years experience in Financial Management
• Previous job experience in INGO
