A leading general insurance company is looking for a qualified Kenyan to fill the following Legal job:
Job Title: Legal Officer

Giving legal advice and opinions on claims involving third party injuries or material damage
Overseeing and ensuring provision of efficient services from external lawyers

Negotiating out of court settlements on third party claims and recoveries
Drafting and reviewing legal documents
Advising the management on the appropriateness or otherwise of legal proceedings or alternative ways of dealing with legal matters
Liaising with and appointment of lawyers, doctors and investigators
Claims cost management

A university law graduate and advocate of the High Court of Kenya
At least 30 years of age
At least 3 years experience in civil litigation or similar position with a general underwriter
Well developed Information technology skills
Insurance qualifications would be an added advantage
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable with high level of integrity
Ability to build and motivate a team
