Job Description
Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates for a new USAID-funded Indoor Residual Spraying 2 (IRS 2) in Kenya Project, which it manages.
Positions are based in Kisumu or nearby counties.

Current openings:
M&E Officer:
Establishes/supports routine M&E system and ensures project monitoring. Develops and maintains M&E database and supports data collection in field.
Requires frequent travel to IRS field sites.

Qualification Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in relevant health field;
- 6+ years relevant experience, preferably on USAIDfunded projects.
- Strong analytical/database skills and advanced statistical software required with previous malaria/IRS experience desirable.
Environmental Compliance Officer:
Ensures spraying activities comply with Kenyan and USG regulations. Supervises and performs inspections. Trains and supports teams.
Qualification Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in public or environmental health;
- 6+ years professional, including insecticide use and management.
IEC Officer:
Develops/oversees community mobilization and communication initiatives activities.
Qualification Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in communications or related field;
- 6+ years professional experience.
Procurement Officer:
Performs local procurements following USAID and Abt Associates policies/procedures.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant field;
- 6+ years experience, with 2+ in in USAIDfunded programs;
- thorough knowledge of FARs and AIDARs required.
Database Manager:
Helps develop/manage database; assists in project monitoring/reporting.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in statistics or relevant field;
- 4+ years experience in database management, M&E.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in statistical software required.
IT Specialist:
Establishes, manages and maintains computer network in all project sites.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/ programming and 4+ years of relevant professional experience in IT network administration in a Windows NT environment, including internet access support.
Accountant:
Records/posts project financial transactions, prepares financial reports, maintains accounts books.
Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary School completion (minimum)
or Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or business; - 2+ years relevant professional experience.
- Experience with USAID-funded projects highly preferred.
County Coordinator:
Oversees spray operations in assigned county in close coordination with DHMTs, others.
Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary School completion (minimum) in relevant health sector field, such as public health;
- 3+ years relevant professional work experience with experience in vector control and IRS.
Logistician:
Provides logistical support for operations in assigned county, including procurement, inventory, storage, disposal, and other tasks.
Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary school completion (minimum) or Bachelor’s Degre;
- 2+ years previous logistics and procurement experience;
- previous IRS experience desirable.
Warehouse Manager:
Manages inventory, assures commodity security, and other tasks.
Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary school completion (minimum), or post-secondary studies in logistics or other relevant field (desirable).
- 2+ years relevant professional experience, with significant experience in procurement and logistics of commodities and demonstrated experience in warehouse/stores management.
Administrative Assistant:
Provides project administrative support.
Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary School completion (minimum)
- or Bachelor’s in administration or other relevant field with 2+ years relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency MS Office required with previous USAID project experience preferred.

I am a holder of CPA Part 1 Certificate and currently working as a stores manager in a large Bakery in Kisumu. I have vast experience in procurement having worked in a three star hotel in the Computer section of their Accounts department. Was mainly raising LPOs and processing invoices for payment. I was also in charge of materials control in stores. My request is to be considered for a position in your organisation

I hold a diploma in procurement from the Kenya Institute of Management. I finished my internship a year ago and am working as a volunteer in a private international company.

I have just completed my Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (management science option) at Kenyatta University awaiting graduation. I have also done CPA Part 1 Section 2, got good skills in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks.
I did my internship at Municipal Council of Thika accounts department and acquired a unique combination of financial management skills and accounting skills that provided me with strong analytical and communication skills for multitasking which are critical for timely and informed business decisions. I have worked with Thika Water and Sanitation Company as an intern and accounts assistant.
I seek to develop my knowledge as learnt in class and at the same time work towards achieving company’s goals and get exposed to real work environment. Working in your distinguished company will invaluably enhance my professionalism as I ensure the company’s targets and objectives are met.
