Finance and Administration Officer – National Drought Management Authority (NDMA)

Background

The drought described as among the worst in 60 years influenced three quarters of the country especially in the North Eastern, Break Valley, Eastern and Shore districts. 3.75 ton people mainly the pastoralists, farmers in limited agricultural regions in addition to the metropolitan poor were affected.

The drought triggered yield failing, exhausted pasture, water and triggered loss of animals helping in a sharp degeneration of home food safety.

UNDP along with GOK have created a task as a medium term action to sustain healing and also construct resilience of communities specifically young people and ladies’s teams affected by the drought and to build up organizations behind recuperation and catastrophe risk reduction job.

The intervention will address short term livelihoods economic recovery needs of youth and women while establishing in the process the capacities and building blocks of sustainable local long-term development.

Objective

The main objective of the assignment is to assist the implementing agency (NDMA) with the work plan and budgets by providing and tracking expenditure and accurate financial accounts, preparation of financial reports and reviews and also support administrative matters and procurement related to the project.
