VDS now seeks to fill the following vacancy on a three (3) years renewable contract. Public Relations & Communications Officer Working in the Directorate of Strategy & Marketing, the candidate will be responsible for the effective design, development, execution and evaluation of public relations and communications strategies aimed at promoting and enhancing the image of Kenya Vision 2030 in order to create goodwill and build brand credibility among all stakeholders. Core duties & responsibilities: Develop and implement a PR and Communications strategy for Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat using traditional and new media, specifically social media Work closely with the Secretariat’s Advertising and Media Agency in maintenance of an effective media relations strategy, stallholder and information management Gather, package and develop communication materials and other publicity materials for internal and external audiences. Organize media briefings, press releases and other media events Coordinate CSR activities for the Secretariat and other forms of external relations Provide any other administrative support to the Directorate as may be directed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies or Journalism. Over 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role with a busy organization. Membership to a professional body Key Competences: Strong interpersonal, communications skills and media relations skills. IT Savvy with a strong understanding of graphic design, the social media, and web management. Working knowledge of mass and new media operations and its proper utilization for dissemination of information. Working experience with a PR/Advertising Agency will be an added advantage.
