1.0 Background Information

The FANIKISHA Institutional Strengthening Project is a five-year cooperative agreement (2011-2016), funded by USAID/Kenya and implemented by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Pact Inc., Danya International, and Regional AIDS Training Network (RATN).

Over the years, Kenyan Civil Culture Organizations (CSOs) have played a prominent duty in delivering wellness solutions to the marginalized, bad and also underserved populations in the nation.

FUNZOKenya Project aims to improve access to and quality of health workforce training by supporting an increased number of new health workers trained; supporting current health worker training needs; strengthening the capacity of training institutions; and strengthening regulatory bodies to enhance training demand.

Working in close partnership with the Ministries of Health, the leading health training institutions in Kenya, and the National Health Training Working Group among others, the project will build responsive, country-led training systems to improve health sector outcomes and the accessibility and quality of health workforce training in Kenya.

Chemonics seeks the following competitive candidates:
 
Chief of Party:
Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience designing, implementing, and managing malaria and health projects, preferably in Africa; USAID experience preferred
Minimum five years of experience planning, implementing, and managing IRS programs
Familiarity with supply chain and/or logistics management strongly preferred
 
Operations Manager:
Minimum five years of experience designing and implementing IRS programs
Demonstrated experience interacting with country-level Ministries of Health
Strong knowledge of USG environmental regulations and appropriate use of insecticides
 
Finance Manager:
Minimum ten years of experience in financial management of large international projects
At least three years of experience with USAID- or other donor-funded health, logistics, and/or supply chain management projects in Africa
Familiarity with compliance to USG Cost Accounting Standards
 
Capacity Building Officer:
Minimum seven years of experience building the capacity of local organizations, government ministries, and the public sector in Kenya
Capacity building experience on donor-funded projects strongly preferred; USAID experience preferred
 
District Coordinator:
At least five years of experience planning, implementing, and managing public health programs at the district or regional level; experience with IRS programs strongly preferred
Experience conducting qualitative research at the local level and facilitating community awareness campaigns
All candidates should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with additional 7 years of experience.
Fluency in English and strong communication skills are required.
Previous experience working in Kenya or East Africa is preferred.
Experience in the following areas is also preferred: supply chain and logistics management, USG environmental regulations, monitoring and evaluation, IEC/BCC, epidemiology, and capacity building of government and public sector organizations.

Senior Assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation (A,M&E) Advisor
·                     At least 10 years of international experience in the design and management of evaluations (impact and performance), analyses and assessments, including the design of the evaluation methodology, participatory data collection methods and protocols, and data verification techniques;
·                     At least seven years of demonstrated experience developing performance management plans, monitoring project implementation, and verifying data from large development projects;
·                     A graduate degree in the field of evaluation, international development or a related technical field; and
·                     At least seven years of experience recruiting, forming and successfully managing teams, and ensuring the quality of their products.
Monitoring and Verification Manager
·                     Graduate degree in the field of evaluation, international development or a related technical field; and
·                     At least 7 years of international experience in the management, monitoring and evaluation of development programs, including experience developing monitoring tools, and training and managing staff in effective use of those tools.
Senior Activity Management Information Systems (AMIS) Manager
·                     At least 15 years’ of professional experience in designing and maintaining management information and reporting systems, with at least 5 years’ of international experience;
·                     A Master’s degree in information management or a related technical field; and
·                     Demonstrated experience successfully communicating with users to create systems that meet individual and organizational needs, and to gain adoption of those systems.
Senior Recruitment Specialist
·                     At least 7 years of professional experience in staff recruitment, preferably in the international development field; and
·                     A Bachelor’s degree in a business administration field.
Senior Communications Advisor
·                     Graduate degree in the field of communication, journalism, international development or a related field;
